Longboard - Bruce Brown's first real 16mm movie. Dale Velzy put up the $5,000 it took to make this movie, including camera equipment, film, plane tickets to Hawaii, and living expenses. Bruce gathered up Del Cannon, Henry Ford, Freddy Pfhaler, Kemp Aaberg, and Dick Thomas, and headed for Hawaii, for as long as their expense budget would hold out. They came back with the gem that started Bruce Brown's legendary film-making career.  |
