Plus A Day in the Life of Wayne Lynch. you get a "starter" before the main program. "A Day in the Life of Wayne Lynch" takes you from the high-profile Coca Cola contest where Wayne Lynch is a favourite contender to his remote home where he surfs with a few close friends. It then follows Wayne around whilst he gives an insight into his motivation, his approach to surfing and shaping boards. Tubular Swells begins with a selection of beautifully filmed shots of hollow waves to which soon are added the top tube riders of today. The waves build to a climax and size with appropriate music. This is followed by visits to Victoria for the Bells, Queensland and Burleigh Heads with surfing from Michael Petersen, Ted Spencer, Rabbit and other notable Aussie stars. It then visits Bali, Indonesia, then on to South Africa with big Jeffreys Bay, back to Hawaii for the Smirnoff and ends rather abruptly with some hardcore backhand Pipeline surfing. Music is by Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller Band and other rock bands from that era. |
